Dear Members,
As a leading global hygiene and health company, Essity Australasia are committed to improving well-being through innovation and sustainability for both our consumers and also our staff.
It seems that when Covid came in, “working from home” was the norm because we had no choice. After Covid, companies implemented work from home policies to make work life balance for people better, as well as to make them more attractive employers. It appears we are now going into a different phase, or thats how the media portrays it, where companies want people to come back into work more. It looks like it’s a case of rebalancing the out of balance.
One thing that has been happening at Essity is a higher awareness of work life balance, however, we haven’t made any changes to how we do that in both production and maintenance departments. Its been the same for the last 70 years and still didn’t change even during Covid. That especially does not mean that we shouldn’t challenge it. And now, we are.
I would like to know if there are any businesses with the Best Practice Network that have changed their working arrangements for maintenance and production personnel; mechanical fitters, technicians, electricians, etc.
Has anyone implemented 4 day work weeks on 10 hour days?
Has anyone implemented 8.5 hour days with a half day on Fridays?
Has anyone implemented a different system and how was it rolled out?
I am interested to hear from anyone in the network who has gone or is going through something like this and is willing to share and discuss your views. If you can assist, please contact me via email.
Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.
