Drew Locher, Multiple Shingo Award Winner – 2018 National Workshops

The Best Practice Network is proud to host Drew Locher, US-based Author and Multiple Shingo Award Winner, to run a series of workshops in February & March 2018, across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

These premium workshops are recommended for Managers and Supervisors wanting to improve their lean coaching skills, drive continuous improvement, and reduce time-to-market for new products and services.

Workshop Dates and Locations:

• COACHING FOR IMPROVEMENT – Thursday 22 February 2018
  • One-Day Workshop
  • SurfAir Conference and Events Centre, 923 David Low Way, Marcoola QLD 4564
  • This workshop will provide an overview of coaching, why it is important, and present an approach that has proven to be effective. This hands-on workshop will provide all participants with a firm understanding of what it takes to become an effective coach. Participants are asked to bring work examples of A3 storyboards, visual management displays, and simple idea cards that can be used to practice coaching around real world situations.

• VALUE STREAM MAPPING FOR THE OFFICE – Wednesday 28 February & Thursday 1 March 2018
  • Two-Day Workshop
  • ANCA, 25 Gatwick Road, Bayswater VIC 3153
  • This practical workshop will work on a selected business process at the host site. Attendees will participate to develop current and future state maps, and an implementation plan to make the future state a reality.

• REDUCING TIME TO MARKET – APPLYING LEAN IN NEW PRODUCT/SERVICE DEVELOPMENT – Monday 5 & Tuesday 6 March 2018
  • Two-Day Workshop

  • This practical workshop will work on a process identified by the host company and will demonstrate how the Product Design process can be re-designed. The workshop will include: a review of value stream mapping to develop the necessary skills of the participants to create a “current state map”; thorough review of Lean Product Design concepts; development of a lean “future state map” for product/process design; implementation strategies to implement the envisioned future state.

About Drew Locher, Author & Multiple Shingo Award Winner

Drew is the author of several books and is currently Managing Director for Change Management Associates. He is also a faculty member of the Lean Enterprise Institute, and an approved instructor for the University of Michigan’s Toyota Kata and Lean Leadership Programs.

In 2004 Drew co-authored book titled, “The Complete Lean Enterprise – Value Stream Mapping for Office and Administrative Processes”. In 2005 it won the Shingo Prize for Excellence. And his book, “Lean Office & Service Simplified: The Definitive How-To-Guide” was a 2012 Shingo Prize recipient. His latest book is titled, “Unleashing the Power of 3P”.
