Dear Members,
The Winson Group is the holding company of Signet and insignia. Signet is one of Australia’s leading manufacturers and distributors of packaging materials, safety supplies and industrial marking products. insignia is a leader in labelling and coding solutions, as well as thermal printing, scanning and mobility products.
We are seeking feedback and guidance from Best Practice Network on “Remote Induction and Training Systems”, given the current climate many of us are now in.
With the current COVID restrictions in several States, we are challenged with adapting our onboarding plans to be completely virtual.
This is a particular challenge for our technical roles that would usually visit customer sites and have access to our workshop area to use coding and printing equipment as part of their training. We are able to use virtual meetings, online videos and conference calls to help adapt.
We would specifically like to know:
- Is this something other members are facing?
- Can anyone share strategies they are using to keep the personal connection and engagement in the training process when it is completely virtual with no “hands on” exposure on equipment?
Winson Group has two manufacturing sites in Brisbane and one in Melbourne. We have approximately 270 staff overall, which includes staff at warehouses across, Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales & Western Australia.
We look forward to receiving feedback and guidance on remote induction and training systems for us to consider and would welcome the opportunity to further discuss and connect with members of Best Practice Network.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Kayti Marlow
