Managing the process of Safety Data Sheets – July 2020

Dear Members,

GroundProbe is an Engineering, Design and Manufacturing company. We develop technology solutions for high value problems, primarily in the mining industry.

We are a small team with no dedicated SHES officer. Currently the process for managing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and risk assessing, hazardous materials in their use context is fragmented and exposes us to certain risks.

GroundProbe is seeking guidance and expertise from within the Best Practice Network, across what is best practice for managing the process of Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Specifically we would like to know if anyone has mapped out the responsibilities for ensuring that the SDS for any purchased hazardous substance is not only held by the business but has been properly risk assessed in the context of its use. Ideally this should include all aspects to this process, for example the updating of the documentation stored in the hazmat register for the fire services.

We look forward to receiving this feedback and guidance and would welcome the opportunity to further discuss and connect with members of the Best Practice Network. The opportunity for our team to then connect and work with new contacts would also be a desired outcome.

Please respond via email [email protected] or by phone.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
