Dear Members,
Tidd Ross Todd Ltd (TRT) is a privately-owned, family business, specialising in the design, manufacture, sales and delivery of products and services within New Zealand and Australia’s road transport and construction industries.
Our key areas of business include manufacturing, design and engineering, truck and trailer parts, truck and trailer mechanical service and repair, crane sales and service, trailer sales and heavy transport and equipment design and manufacture.
We are looking at the introduction of an “in house” Cadetship or Traineeship to support staff development. Our main reason for the plan in particular, is that in both our Trailer and Crane Assembly areas there doesn’t appear to be an Apprenticeship programme available to us. We want to develop young talent using Subject Matter Experts and their considerable experience.
TRT in Hamilton would welcome any guidance or lessons learnt from organisations within Best Practice Network that may have gone down the same path and implemented a Cadetship.
We would appreciate any feedback on:
- What suitable core elements work; and
- What specific “elective” opportunities exist for NZQA mapping in heavy manufacturing and heavy plant assembly
If you can help, please email: [email protected]
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
